No more whining about my job! I promise! I won't mention my job in this post after this sentence... I will tell you about my bus ride home instead.
Everyday when I leave -peeeeeeeeep- I walk to the bus stop which is not very far. I gross the road where there is usually lots of cars going back and forth. Sometimes I feel quilty that all these people have to stop for me when I press the sidewalk light button for that little red man to turn green. After grossing the road I pass a little fast food restaurant with a chicken on their sign. It's not a chain restaurant, or at least I think it's not - it looks much dirtier than those sparkling clean chains. There are also some other shops, one has a sign D.I.Y on their window and everytime I wonder what on earth that could mean.. (still don't know). Sometimes I see the backlights of a bus when I get to the road where the bus stop is but in many cases that is not a problem because next one always comes after few minutes. Yesterday I had to wait for 5 minutes for a bus, it's probably the longest I've ever waited. I always say "hello" to the driver and show my travel card to the machine that say "pleep". I climb the ladder to the second floor and usually find a nice seat in the front of the bus. Well, not yesterday though. It was packed with people and I had to go sit all the way to the back. I hate it when the bus is full... the windows get all steamed and the air feels heavy. Yesterday the bus got so full that at one point the driver didn't stop at the bus stops anymore to pick more people in because the bus might have exploded if he had.... But anyway... the bus ride is actually very scenic for the most part. We drive through breath taking Richmond which looks like a place from holiday brochures. Thames is very pretty on that part of London and there are huge parks surrounding the little town. From Richmond we follow the side of Kew Gardens which in case you didn't know is a garden full of plants, flowers and trees from around the world (very pretty). Then the road meets Thames again and well... to be honest that's where the beauty ends. During the low tide the river banks are full of stuff that people just have dumped there. If I had loads of money I would hire a punch of unemployed people to clean it up, this is supposed to be the most beautiful part of London (river Thames that is) and people treat it like it is a dump pit. It's there where the bus grosses the river and arrives to the north side of Thames. Just before the bus arrives to South Ealing there is an area which reminds me of the death camps of Birkenau. I can't understand why on earth you can find these horrible buildings everywhere you go, Finland for example is full of them. South Ealing is not as bad. It's full of little shops, pubs and cafe's. It looks like a place that is alive. Alive or not, but there is also a very pretty graveyard. It looks really really old and I'm sure there are Zombies when the night comes. Those of you who didn't know, zombies are dead people whose brains have been reanimated by a virus. They aren't human at all and if you come agross one you should try to decapitate it or at least try to stick something through their eye. From South Ealing there is only a few minutes ride to Ealing Broadway, where I live. Thames Valley University on the right, Ealing studios on the left, Old Orleans pub, YMCA gym, Halifax bank, Church, Shopping Centre, Haven Green, pub, Tesco and aaaaaah, it feels great to strech your legs after sitting in a bus for an hour. It is weird how the same trip in the morning takes 35 minutes less time. But yes, that is my bus ride every day, wanna hear how it sounds when I take it in the morning?? :)
