...I dunno what to write today... My life is so boring :D
BUT
IT'S FRIDAY TODAY!! And that always makes me so happy. Me and my friend are going to ask from the local hairdresser today if we could get hair extensions for free :D Well... it's because a while ago they were looking for people that could be "test subjects" for extensions. Hope we still can, that would be extra cool! We're also joining the Gym today, monday a new life will begin :P And... I think I will go have a drink by the Thames as well... it's been real warm here, well, at least a lot warmer than a little while ago... +15C or so. YAY!

D I L E M M A....
I have a dilemma.
Every morning I curse this job because I have to wake up so early. Every morning I plan that now I will look for a job that starts later in the morning... But... I really like the people I'm working with. I like the fact that I get paid every week instead of once in a month, plus it's relatively close to where I live and the area is absolutely beautiful. Is it worth sacrificing my life during the week for a work like this though? I guess you always sacrifise your life a little when you work from monday to friday, but at least I would like to be able to sit on my couch in the evening and watch my favourite series... But well, I know me, I'm probably going to stay here for few months at least - complain a lot, but stay anyway. I guess it's ok now since the days are getting longer but I don't think I could work here in the winter... brrrr... no thanks... Oh well, I am sure I'll be writing to you in November, still working here... complaining :)

My weekend was great
Ah... took me a bit longer than a day to continue...
Isn't it a pain that they took an hour away from our sleep on the weekend?? Now again it's dark when I go to work.
So, how was your weekend? Mine was great :) I had a CS party and it turned out to be a true success! Lots and lots of people showed up and we had a blast. Hopefully our neighbours still love us, eventhough we were listening to music really loudly still at 3 am... :D We had a random tramp wonder in as well which I had to ask to leave, he smelled soooo bad, the whole house smelled like him after a while... yack. I felt really bad though, I've never asked anyone to leave... Hopefully I'll still go to heaven when I die...
Well, after these 3 months that I've been here I have to say that I really love London. I've never had such active social life and it has been so easy to make new friends. I love the fact that I can do anything whenever I want to.. Like e.g. on friday I had my nails done for the first time ever... In Finland, especially in my hometown, it would be something exclusive but here it's eveyday life... everyone has beautuful long nails. AND another thing I really like is that after work we go have drinks with my work collegues. I had few drinks last friday as well and had a great time! Though it took me 2 hours to go home because first I took the wrong train and then I fell asleep to another one which meant I missed my stop... Oh well... that's life though, I managed to make the trip without buying a ticket, so that's ok. I didn't try to travel without a ticket there just weren't a place where I could've bought a ticket. Uuhm.... I think this is it for now - I'll get to go home soon, so that's good. I might go to see the ringer today to the movies, it seems like a fun movie... :) See you all later!

Plaaaa.... I've been so lazy writing here lately, I do apologise for that! It's been busy at work, one of us quit yesterday which means it's going to be even worse from now on. They are hiring 2 or 3 other people soon but before they will be trained it will be at least a month later. The job is getting better though, I actually even like it from time to time. I guess it has lots to do with the fact that I'm learning how to handle complainers and I can actually answer the questions myself without asking help from someone else. ... Oh and I finally got my PIN code for my bank card which means that I can finally go and spend some of the money that I have earned with this hard work >:) yay! I might actually go shopping today!
Let me tell you about the hassle there was with my bank account. First of all... In England it is absolutely pain in the arse to get a bank account in the first place. You are treated like a criminal if you don't have a proof of address and even when you do you are able to get the most basic account there is... You can't even get a Visa Electron, even though kids under 18 in Finland has them... grr, it makes me so mad. This happens in a country where they don't even have ID cards!!! ....will continue tomorrow

Living la vida loca
What did I say about friday on my post?? .... Well, I ended up going out with my workfriends. There is this pub here in Kingston that sells Kopparberg's Cider, yay! A danish girl was having a housewarming party as well where I ended up going. I had told myself that I will go home after visiting her quickly but I should've known myself better than that. I ended up dancing the night away and my way back home was rather interesting. It was around 1.30 am when I called my boyfriend to ask how I can get from Wimbledon to Ealing Broadway. It turned out to be that it was more tricky than I had expected... Travelling in London after midnight has been made very difficult. Journey planner was telling that it'll take at least 2 hours to get home and I needed to change bus at least twice. I was in a totally alien neighbourhood, rrrreally tired and rrrreally drunk at the moment as well... It's not very good compination when you need to find your way on bus routes in a place where you've never been before. Luckily these 2 girls Nicola and Jennie that I had been partying with happened to be going back to Kingston with a cab so I decided to go with them there. I knew that the bus 65 that I take everyday goes 24h a day and it would be the simpliest way for me to get home. When I got to the bus stop I noticed that one bus had just gone and at that time of the night they only run every 30 minutes... Which meant that I had to wait for half an hour... That really sucked. I decided to walk few bus stops away from the station just to kill some time but I only made it to 4 stops further when I started to feel really tired - so I stayed there. I don't know how much time had passed but at one point a man tapped my shoulder saying "Miss, you told me to wake you up when the bus comes and it's now here" He didn't come to the bus (I think) but I have to say that he must've been my guardian angel, I don't even remember asking anyone to wake me up.... maybe he wasn't even there, maybe I was dreaming... weird. But anyway, if you are a tall black man and you woke someone up early saturday morning on a bus stop in Kingston, THANK YOU!!
The rest of the way after that was fine. I fell asleep in the bus as well, but it was ok since I knew that I just had to go all the way back to the end of the line and I was almost home. My way home from the bus stop was really long and cold, or at least that's how it felt. I was literally dragging my feet because I was so tired... It was past 3 when I got home. I had been up almost 24 hours. Well, all in all, I had a good night. I made new friends and I didn't even have a bad hangover the next day. On sunday I went shopping, but that's another story - I think the spring is finally here because the sun is really starting to feel warm :)

Happy St Patrick's day!!!!
Yay :) It's friday again, my favourite day of the week. On every friday I get paid, every friday I know that the next day is completely mine and every friday I know that I can go to the pub and have a drink if I want to... Well, I still have this day to go through. Friday last week was horrible (at work that is) lets keep fingers grossed that this will be better.
I'm so tired though - I think I will just sleep on saturday. Well, that's what I always say but I always end up waking up at 8 on saturdays, because that's really late for me. It's 3 hours later from what I usually wake up.
Next week I'm having a couch surfing houseparty. Those of you who don't know what that is check out: www.couchsurfing.com In my opinion it's the best invention after electricity, airplanes and internet. I love the fact that if I am in a strange city on the other side of the world I can contact a person that is probably a friend of a friend of mine and I can go hang out with them. That makes exploring the city and a new culture so much more interesting than doing all that by myself. But enough of that advertisement speech, check it out yourself and I'm sure you'll find it as great as I do.

SOMEBODY SAT ON MY SEAT THIS MORNING!
Yeah yeah... My day was ruined because this man... this ignorant man was sitting on MY seat... How unconsiderate of him. Haha... well, actually it hasn't been so bad today (should never say that though). To be continued....

Life sucks and then you die...
I want to go home. I want to go home and stay there for a week without having to wake up to my alarm clock. I want to be able to walk around the flat without brushing my hair for the whole day and I want to just sit infront of my tv and eat nachos. I've been to my new job for a bit over a month now. It's ok, it gives me money to do stuff but I really don't like few things about it. First of all, I don't like the fact that I am giving so much of me and getting so little in return. Every time someone calls I have to be chatty and a fun person, even if the customer calling me is a total misery and only complains about everything that there is wrong in their world. Like old people for example, they seem to always think that because they are old and sick they can get everything for free. Ok, yes, I do symphatise with them but it's not really a reason, is it? Today a man called here and asked me to go visit him because he liked my voice. He was probably old enough to be my dad... but I had to laugh and find something witty to reply because I have to keep the customers happy... I HATE THAT! I really like to think that I am a chatty person by nature but I guess I am not, I find small talk annoying and a total waste of time...

tHe daY AfteR sUndAY
Who came up with mondays anyway?? I hate coming to work after the weekend. On monday it feels that there is no end to this week... and even the weekend seems pointless because after sunday there is always that bloody monday. This morning my alarm went off at 4.50 again. I'm really starting to hate the sound of that... Well, at least it's better than the muppets show music that I used to have before, that used to really annoy me in the mornings. The sun was rising when I was sitting on my favourite seat in the bus on my way to work. I always sit on the right side of the bus on the forth seat from the front on the second floor. Once there was someone else sitting on that spot and it really made my day miserable. But anyway, as I said, the sun was rising when I was coming to work - the whole sky was red. Just as I get used to the sun rising when I'm going to work they are going to make the clocks go forward for an hour, so yet again I am waking up in the middle of the night when there is no light anywhere in the world... #*&!! it's not fair. Oh well, at least it's lighter later to the evening, that is if I ever feel like staying up later than 8 pm... yawn

SUNDAY
I really love weekends, that's why I won't write here much now. Well, actually it's my cleaning day - gotta make some sense to this chaos which is in this flat at the moment. One thing though, there is a restaurant called 'Fat Boys' in Ealing Broadway that must be the best restaurant in West London. Service was really quick, food and wine was great and the athmosphere was just right, I'll give 10+ to that place - try it if you happen to be in the area. Now I go clean up the toilet or something, yay... hahahah :) Have a great sunday everyone, tune back tomorrow.

When I was 16
To be honest, the bus ride back was very boring - I was half asleep the whole way, so I won't go into that now. It's been too busy this morning... I was silly enough to hope it was a slow day, so here's my punisment. But YAY, it's friday and tomorrow I don't have to wake up before the sunrise :)
One question that I pondered during the bus ride though was "what has been the happiest time of your life?" Well, I have to say that I am quite happy at the moment, I have everything one can ask for. Well, I'm not a millionaire nor do I have a great job or a car, but do I want to? Not really. The only thing I would change though is my age. I would like to still be 21 and have all the benefits people under 25 have. Now that I've grossed the magical line of 25 I have to pay double of almost everything there is, and I think it's not fair... I'm not any richer from what I was last year but I'm still travelling as much. Youth is wasted for the young indeed... But I don't want to sound like bitter old spinster who complains about everything that there is about young and beautiful people, I will keep on being young no matter how old I am, I just have to pay more (grunt, grunt).
But back to the subject "happiest time of your life"
If I have to choose another moment of my life than today I think I'd have to say it was the time when I was 16 and had just started to go to upper secondary school. Years before that were totally insane, I had the worst first teenage years a girl can have. (Maybe I can write something about it at somepoint if I am in the mood for depressing stuff). I had finally changed to another school which meant that I had to find completely new friends as well. The whole first year was great. I loved everything about it and even early mornings felt allright. After school I was taking part to a school theatre productions and I also went to my dance lessons, which made my life very busy. In school there was a boy (duh, of course there was, I was 16) who smiled at me in the lunch room everytime I saw him. He was a funny looking boy with a pointy nose. I think it was the pilosophy glass when he came to sit next to me and that was the beginning of a great friendship that lasted for a year. Everyday after school we went to wonder around the town and do silly things. He showed me places where I had never been before and every single day he walked me to my bus stop. People were saying that we were a couple but I guess they knew better than us because we considered eachother just friends. Sometimes he got off from school earlier than me but he always waited for me, sometimes even for few hours. I know his friends were teasing him because of that, but he was always there waiting for me with his bright yellow bike. He was a real goofball and he was always making jokes to make me laugh. We talked about everything there is under the sun and we were the absolute best friends. Year went by really quick and I knew that the following semester I had to change schools. I had to go to a school that was nearer to where I lived. On the final day of school before the summer holiday this boy walked me again to the bus stop. We talked about things as we always did but when the bus came he gave me a kiss on my cheek to say good bye. The whole bus ride home I was like in a trance, all these feelings came out and I realized that I was madly in love with him and he must have been madly in love with me too. Sadly though this story doesn't have a happy ending. We met each other probably once during the summer holiday and lost contact after that. But I am glad I met him, he is one of the good memories in my head which I hope I never forget, it's a memory from the time when I was young and pretty and when there was not a single worry in my head, or if there was it was probably about what color lipstick suits the best for me or what kind of clothes I should wear the next day. After that semester my downfall started and for few years I was a total misery for my parents, I'll tell you about that some other time, now I need some food :) Fairwell ...

That red double deck bus.....
No more whining about my job! I promise! I won't mention my job in this post after this sentence... I will tell you about my bus ride home instead.
Everyday when I leave -peeeeeeeeep- I walk to the bus stop which is not very far. I gross the road where there is usually lots of cars going back and forth. Sometimes I feel quilty that all these people have to stop for me when I press the sidewalk light button for that little red man to turn green. After grossing the road I pass a little fast food restaurant with a chicken on their sign. It's not a chain restaurant, or at least I think it's not - it looks much dirtier than those sparkling clean chains. There are also some other shops, one has a sign D.I.Y on their window and everytime I wonder what on earth that could mean.. (still don't know). Sometimes I see the backlights of a bus when I get to the road where the bus stop is but in many cases that is not a problem because next one always comes after few minutes. Yesterday I had to wait for 5 minutes for a bus, it's probably the longest I've ever waited. I always say "hello" to the driver and show my travel card to the machine that say "pleep". I climb the ladder to the second floor and usually find a nice seat in the front of the bus. Well, not yesterday though. It was packed with people and I had to go sit all the way to the back. I hate it when the bus is full... the windows get all steamed and the air feels heavy. Yesterday the bus got so full that at one point the driver didn't stop at the bus stops anymore to pick more people in because the bus might have exploded if he had.... But anyway... the bus ride is actually very scenic for the most part. We drive through breath taking Richmond which looks like a place from holiday brochures. Thames is very pretty on that part of London and there are huge parks surrounding the little town. From Richmond we follow the side of Kew Gardens which in case you didn't know is a garden full of plants, flowers and trees from around the world (very pretty). Then the road meets Thames again and well... to be honest that's where the beauty ends. During the low tide the river banks are full of stuff that people just have dumped there. If I had loads of money I would hire a punch of unemployed people to clean it up, this is supposed to be the most beautiful part of London (river Thames that is) and people treat it like it is a dump pit. It's there where the bus grosses the river and arrives to the north side of Thames. Just before the bus arrives to South Ealing there is an area which reminds me of the death camps of Birkenau. I can't understand why on earth you can find these horrible buildings everywhere you go, Finland for example is full of them. South Ealing is not as bad. It's full of little shops, pubs and cafe's. It looks like a place that is alive. Alive or not, but there is also a very pretty graveyard. It looks really really old and I'm sure there are Zombies when the night comes. Those of you who didn't know, zombies are dead people whose brains have been reanimated by a virus. They aren't human at all and if you come agross one you should try to decapitate it or at least try to stick something through their eye. From South Ealing there is only a few minutes ride to Ealing Broadway, where I live. Thames Valley University on the right, Ealing studios on the left, Old Orleans pub, YMCA gym, Halifax bank, Church, Shopping Centre, Haven Green, pub, Tesco and aaaaaah, it feels great to strech your legs after sitting in a bus for an hour. It is weird how the same trip in the morning takes 35 minutes less time. But yes, that is my bus ride every day, wanna hear how it sounds when I take it in the morning?? :)

Regarding my previous post
Not one day pass by without someone threatening to inform my boss about the bad customer service that this company has. It's something I just have to listen and to be honest I forget about them immediately after the phone call. First I thought that there was something wrong with me, but since then I've realised that people just need someone to blame when the world doesn't go as they wish... I must say that it probably is a problem that resides only in the western, developed countries. We need to blame someone so we wouldn't be the one responsible for the bad luck we've had, thank god it's not as insane as in America, I think I would be sitting in court already. My opinion of the whole thing is that it's stupid and people should lighten up a bit. We don't complain when we win a new car from the lottery or find a 100 € note from the street, but we complain when we have a computer that just simply breaks down right after the warranty has ran out or we lose lots of money on a bet whch was supposed to be certain.. ok ok, I understand that it is a very bad example, but my point is that it's just up to luck, after all someone lost that 100€ note which you found...
Did you know that the betting firms (at least here in UK) are responsible to certain extense if one of their customers lose all their belongings because they have a betting problem. And restaurants are responsible of a person who drinks too much and e.g. falls over in the stairs so bad that he gets serious injury.... I have to say that I can fall over when I've drank 2 ciders, but just like anyone else, I would probably be taking things to court if it meant that I can get some money out of it.... It's a sick sick world we live in.
Or maybe I'm just getting bitter here, I'm finding out sides of people that I wish I'd never have seen. All these complainers are probably nice people who just happen to be extremely pissed off about the bad luck they've had... well except that guy who needed a store closer to him, he just plainly was stupid. I guess it's normal to not think very clearly when you've just found out that you've lost a big amount of money... well, in most of the cases at least. Then we have these complainers that complain just for the sake of complaining... Those people I would literally like to send to one of the 3rd world countries to live for few months and see how much they complain there about the toaster that doesn't make the bread crisp enough or a washing liquid that doesn't quite smell like roses. Oh well... at least one good thing has come from this job, I will probably never complain without a reason about anything and I'm going to be a very nice customer everywhere from now on.... Amen.

Lesson 1
Today has been nice..... Ok, I shouldn't say this. The moment I had written that sentence down I got a phone call from a customer who complained about everything there is to complain and threatened to contact my supervisor because he wasn't happy with the answer I gave him... and all it was to find out where he can get a certain product. He wasn't happy about the fact that there wasn't a store closer to where he lives. I guess people expect me to transform into a shop and run next to their house. It's the same with customers who think that I can magically fix their stuff through the phone. Those people make me mad at first, but after a while it makes me feel good about my life, it is so easy. I don't remember ever having a moment when I was yelling to a complete stranger over the phone about something that really is no ones fault - or usually the one to blame is the person herself. E.g. if you want to have all the necessary stores nearby then move to a big city, you can't have it all... Plus it's a fact that if you are nice to the customer service you will get much quicker and better results - no one wants to serv a customer who is impossible to handle. SO next time you don't get your magazine from the mail or your tv explodes don't yell at the person over the phone as if it was her fault, ask nicely what has happened and you'd be surprised how quick things get sorted out, plus you might even get some extra. Also keep in mind that sometimes there is nothing that can be done and you will end up paying the bill no matter how much you yell, kick and scream...
But enough about that already, I would like to tell you about my grazy garlic that has grown 10cm in few days. It's insane!!! I kept the poor garlic in the fridge for few weeks so it can experience winter and now it's in an old yoghurt can on my kitchen window. How big will it grow??? I'll post a picture of it at some point for you to admire... Have a great day! I'll write something more if I get a moment when there is absolutely nothing else to do.

Time wasted...
I was supposed to write something here but I ended up consulting a customer for 66 minutes who couldn't install one of his products... ahh... I'm really looking forward to go home now.

monday
There went the weekend. This morning was terrible again. I woke up at 2.30 am and thought that it was time to wake up, I'm not sure wether it is a good or a bad thing to realize that you still have 2 more hours to sleep. I twisted around in my bed at least 100 times and for sure it was 3.30 when I fell asleep again... and ah, what a great feeling it was when my alarm went off at 4.50 am (NOT!) Good thing with early mornings is that I get off earlier in the afternoon, but I curse the workplace every morning when I'm trying to open my eyes in the middle of the night - it's not even morning that early. After this week I've been here for a month. I'm not sure how long I will be here, but I think at least until summer. I've been thinking that I would really like to go travelling in July. Working during summer is just totally insane. I have to have at least a month time to just do whatever I wish. I would like to spend some time in Finland but also go somewhere where it is certain that I can lay at least a week in the sun and go shopping for cheap clothes and drink cheap drinks. ... Yaaaaaaawn, I'm so tired. I really have to go get a cup of coffee now.

"I am a worker"
So here I am now, at work. The irony is that now that I finally got me a job I've been getting 2 phone calls a day employers asking me to come to the interviews, I guess it just takes them a while to decide what they want. Well too bad for them, they lost an excellent worker because I think I'll stick here for a while. I work in a customer service of a certain company, don't want to mention where because after all it's the internet and there is always someone looking for an opportunity to take advantage of such information. So far I've quite liked it. I've been here for 3 weeks now and in my opinion I fit in here very well, I guess I am just a nice person ;) I work with a group of other Scandinavians so I feel right at home. Only bad thing about this job is that I have to wake up at 4.50 every morning - what kind of a time that is to wake up anyway!?!? Insane I tell you, that's the middle of the night for me. I've been out partying later than that. But as I said, I think I'll stick to this job for now, I like the people here and it's not too far from where I live (that's if there are no traffic jams).
My days go by slowly when there is nothing to do... I just sit infront of my computer waiting for someone to call me. Well, I guess it's allright since then I have more time to write nonsense to my blog, that you can come and read. I haven't gotten any nasty customers today... I usually get at least one, so it's still yet to come, not looking forward to it though. I just can't believe how some people's lifes can be such a struggle sometimes. They have this opinion that if there is something wrong you should always complain, no matter how small thing it is or how difficult it'll make their life. They make problems personal with the person in the other end (in this case me) and think they can bend every rule there is... Oh well, that's just me complaining there. I guess everyone has the right to complain, but I think what I am trying to say is that people should really lighten up a bit, it's not the end of the world if things don't always go as they would prefer, that's just part of life. I'm hungry...

Finland, Finland, Finland....
My boredom got to it's peak one day and it made me buy a flight to Finland. It made me happy to think that I'll see my friends and family again. Most of the time I just spent with my mother, being outside in the countryside. There was so much snow everywhere and the weather was absolutely beautiful. It was really really cold though - 30C but I guess it's just a matter of wearing the right kind of clothes. I also learnt how to knit *blush* and went to sauna every night. I was so happy there, I really wouldn't complain if that was the life I lived for the rest of my life.
I stayed in Finland for 6 days. Besides spending time with my mother I also got totally wasted with my friend Katja. The following day I laid on my ex-roommate's sofa (in my ex-flat) because I was feeling so ill.
When I took the train back to the airport after my few days holiday in my hometown I felt completely in peace with myself. I felt physically and mentally healthy. I pumped into my old friend in the train and spent the time remenising and laughing about silly things. When it was my stop I told my friend that now I'll fly to London and get me a job. And I did.

Beginnings...
My first month here was SO boring. I didn't have any friends, I didn't have a job and sooner or later I wouldn't have any money. I was sending my CV out like crazy but no one contacted me back. That made me feel really depressed, I thought I was worth nothing. There are people working here from every part of the world, some of them don't even speak English and then there was me with lots of skills and more than one language. I started going to the gym because I wante dto get my mind of the fact that I was a nobody and it actually worked, so next time when someone says that sports is good for your body and soul, don't laugh - it's true.

Home
Ahh... Home from work, what a great feeling it is to realize that for few remaining hours of the day I don't have to think about anything if I don't want to. I can just sit and stare at the tv with my mouth half open...or eat my favourite food - that's if I have the energy to actually make it.
Today I had Lasagne for lunch at work. It was ok, but I have to say that moments like that makes me always miss home more than anything. My mother makes the best lasagne ever and I am not the only one who says that - if you don't believe me, go taste it yourself. She must have a secret incredient because I can never quite get the similar taste to my lasagne, even though I really love cooking. Oh well... maybe one day I'll learn.
So where was I... that's right - home. My home is in London now. I've been living here for 2 and a half months. Before I moved here I had this image of London being some magical place where it is never boring. The weather has always been sunny when I've been here and I've always had the greatest time. Even the first 2 weeks after I moved here it was sunny - I tought that the "rainy england" was just a urban legend and that it wasn't really true. I guess I still think London is great but in another way...

My very first post
Yay - my turn to start a blog. To be honest few months ago I didn't even know what it was and I consider myself well knowledged in the modern technology.Well, I am not sure if anyone really is even interested in what's going on in my life and most importantly in my head, but to be honest, if no one ever reads this I won't die, at least I'll have something to read and write when I am sitting at work and trying to hide from my work... hmm, or maybe one day I'll publish a world famous book and then people will be paying to get to this site to read my stories.
Well, if you ever happen to come across this blog and you think it's funny, stupid, boring or just feel like saying hi, send me a message - You'll make me smile for sure :)
